To Him be the glory

YOU ARE: Renewed and Restored

Renewed and Restored

Do you ever feel dirty? Unwanted? Unclean? Do you ever feel like you totally messed up God’s plan for your life? Like you have gone too far in the wrong direction and there is no way you are ever getting out of the hole you are in? Well, let me tell you, our God is a renewer and a restorer. He meets us right where we are. There is absolutely nothing too dirty that He can’t handle. He will meet you in the midst of your pain and suffering, in the midst of your darkest sin. And He won't look at you based off of your past, or who you were, but He will look at you with hope and joy as His lost child has been returned.

Psalm 23:3 says, “He restores my soul: He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.”

He will restore you, help you get back up, and guide you into the light where there will be newfound hope and joy.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says that “anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new.” When you say yes to Jesus, your iniquities will be thrown into the depths of the sea and you will be renewed and restored.

Or maybe you feel tired, worn-down. You feel like you just can’t take one more step. Our God says to come to Him, He will give you rest. If you are exhausted throw your problems, worries, and to-do list on Him and He will carry the load that you can’t bear any longer.

Isaiah 40:1 “but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

That is such a great promise. He will renew our strength when we are tired and weary! The Hebrews looked to the eagle as a strong warrior. These birds actually use the storm to make them go higher! Most birds sense the storm coming and they will try and hide and find shelter, but not the eagles. The eagles will wait in anticipation for the storm to come. They will then use the storm to push them higher than they are able to go on their own. When the eagles use the storm to their advantage they actually end up above the storm. This verse is not promising that followers of God will never face storms, but what it is saying is that with God we have the power to fully embrace the storm as we watch God lift us higher than we have ever gone before amidst circumstances that others run from.

Let's celebrate today that we are renewed and restored!
